Terms of Service

The service

HK Data API is a free, read-only API that normalises public data from data.gov.hk into standardised JSON. We do not own the underlying datasets; they remain the property of their respective publishers and are subject to their original terms.

Acceptable use

  • Do not attempt to write to, modify, or scrape aggressively beyond published rate limits.
  • Cache responses client-side where practical; respect the upstream data providers.
  • Keep your API keys confidential. You are responsible for usage attributable to your keys.

Rate limits & quotas

Anonymous requests are throttled and capped monthly. Registered accounts receive higher limits. We may adjust limits, suspend abusive traffic, or revoke keys that violate these terms.

Availability

The service depends on the availability of upstream systems we do not control. We provide the service on an "as is" basis without warranty of uptime, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.

Accounts

You may close your account at any time. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that abuse the service or violate these terms.
